I would be remiss in my duties if I didn’t alert my readers to the earnest concerns of the great Doug Casey, who sees challenging times ahead:

He is not alone; many smart people agree. While I’m not one of the smarties, it doesn’t take a genius to guess where things are headed when a government is openly declaring war on its people and going all hand baskets in hell on ‘em.
Students of real, non-public/government school history know that this is not a first. They know it’s a second, the first being that awful time when Evil Abe presided over the raping, slaughtering, torching and scorching of his neighbors to the south, women and children included. Apparently we didn’t learn our lesson well enough and need to be taught it again, real good and proper this time.
True enough, folks are fleeing the country in the hope of escaping another Civil War style conflagration. While there’s certainly a case to be made for that, I reckon I will stay put. The beloved family is here, the friends are here … so it is here that I will stand, alongside my brethren, doing everything possible to save the precarious future of our precious grandchildren.
At times like this, especially when martial law chatter is growing, it would be natural to lose all faith in mankind. But what if these are the times when we should most believe in the good hearts of our fellow humans? Let us hope and pray that there are enough people in the military and law enforcement who know the Golden Rule and have the courage to stand up to despots, to Live Free or Die. Calling New Hampshire! Anybody home?!
One major problem with the chicken plan is that most other countries of the world have already gone Full Commie on the natural right of self defense, Australia being the obvious best example. I have to wonder if the poor people who turned in their guns to the government in response to the Tasmanian tragedy in 1996, would have done so had they known their caring and benevolent government would force them all, at the point of their gun, to mask up, shut up, stay home, and get injected with a deadly bioweapon a mere 27 years hence. I think not.
Here in the states, the embarrassing miscreants are scheming to go all AussieCom on us and scarf up the guns, the many Gadsden flags here notwithstanding. If history has taught us much of anything though, it’s that we relinquish the arms at our own peril.
Now is the time to be talking with our sheriff, the very linchpin of liberty at the local level. He needs to know that we patriotic freedom fighters (aka domestic terrorists according to government) are on his side and that we are counting on him, now more than ever.
But let’s just say Doug Casey is wrong, that no great depression is going to befall us. Well, heck-fire Andy, wouldn’t that just be super-duper! We could all relax in the comfort of being that much more prepared for the next natural disaster, scamdemical hoax or other highly concocted black swan.
But if he is right, we will surely need each other more than ever, especially for basics like food, water and defense. If we are not working hard on these basics within our Good Help Networks, then we might just as well be praying for immaculate deliverance by our friendly neighbors in an adjacent galaxy.
Come to think of it, let’s do both!
