What a freaking spectacle. I have to wonder how I would react to an Arch-war criminal nominating me for something. “Wow, Killer, that’s very flattering, but I’m afraid I must respectfully decline. Wouldn’t want folks assuming I agree with sniping babies. I much prefer bombs and missiles, all for a good cause of course, but thanks anyway.”
The Colonel incisively labels it “Opposite Day” … guess that’s why Orwell presciently warned us in his masterpiece “1984” that “War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength.” By the same token I guess we could say the “Land of the free, home of the brave” is now the “Land of the subservient serf, home of the obsequious taxpaying sheeple.” If that’s too harsh, just think the opposite … you know, Harshness is Kindness, Bitter is Sweet, that kind of thing. All the utopians are doing it.
Her second point about our ubiquitously propagandized paradigm is hard to refute, since we’ve been lied to about pretty much everything … a couple World Wars, a Tonkin induced “police action”, so-called regime changes for so-called democracy, JFK, RFK, MLK, OKC, Waco, Ruby, 9/11, DEW, safe and effective poisons, on and on, ad infinitum. At this rate I’m starting to doubt the Easter Bunny. But not the Aliens. Those are for real.
