I have to remind myself almost daily to avoid even engaging in debate with stupid people. It’s like trying to teach a pig to sing. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do distinctly remembering when I was a kid questioning Daylight Savings Time, and realizing then it was a stupid idea… It truly creates more problems than it fixes….kid of like the Covid vaccines….😬
I was born in Arizona, which had never gone along with dst. So we had to take that into account whenever we called someone in a different state. It didn’t bother me so badly until congress made it longer. Seems to me that they couldn’t be so stupid as not to understand that people don’t want that, and that it is an actual burden. To me that is just one more indication that the government is at war with the people.
We have more in common than grammar sanity, J. DST has been a rant of mine since I had a radio show a decade ago. From my research, it was an equestrian aristocrat who was disgusted by all the lay-a-beds who should have been up and working. It's a trick because getting people to come in an hour early to work is much harder than getting them to stay an hour late. With DST salaried workers work longer for free.
And the lie to it all is that so-called 'standard time' is only 4 months and one week out of the year. At least be honest and admit that jobs are 7 to 4 and that it's only a third of the year that wage slaves come in and leave an hour later.
Also accident increase with the time change. Suddenly the setting sun is in commuters' eyes with no time to adjust to it.
And yes, it's an ongoing test of will when my friends say they like having an extra hour of daylight. When a professor said something about the sun setting later, I thought she was joking and said, 'You know it really doesn't change the sun.' She just looked at me, baffled.
Glad to have a pocket of sanity with my fellow ranters, J.
But we can rant about it all we want - nothing changes! Congress has to be the one to junk it? No one in the populace ever asked for this, did they? A completely artificial time system that has nothing to do with the natural sunrise, sunset. Like taxes, it was imposed upon the rest of the people from above. So, why do so many still want it?
I guess "great awakenings" take time and sometimes lots of it. To my simple mind, the fact that 19 states have passed laws about it means we are moving the needle. 😅
I would say that it's the iceberg tip, Teresa. The clock is our master. No matter what's happening and what the priorities should be, the clock's voice speaks louder. So when the masters let us sleep an hour later, we say, 'thank you, master!' And when they 'give' us an hour more of sunshine, we say, 'thank you, master!' We don't question that they stole our time from us in the first place.
It goes further, the system before the introduction of the Gregorian calendar meant every month was the same amount of days and there was no leap year. Its all to confuse people by design, not that it takes much these days.
When doing the bio resonance on people the first question is "what is the initial of your last name". How long it takes for a response is my new indicator of brain function. Some cannot even supply it and eventually give in by giving the full last name. Maybe they need a letter calculator?

No doubt about it Edgar, this is war … incredibly, most still are not getting it … not good at all

I shall conclude that since 19 states have passed laws about it, we are moving the needle. 🤙🏼

Hi J,
It goes further, the system before the introduction of the Gregorian calendar meant every month was the same amount of days and there was no leap year. Its all to confuse people by design, not that it takes much these days.

Very interesting points Matt, thanks for the enlightenment!
