"The US government is a lost cause, no matter who is king president. The good news is that folks are working to jump this sinking homicidal ship in increasingly greater numbers."
Thanks for the article.
But I have to disagree with state secession. It is running away from a problem rather than addressing it, and the complications of such an endeavor are immense and too numerous to list here. But, one is the creation of numerous smaller fiefdoms with the same problems.
I do believe the current US government is a lost cause. It should be torn down and replaced with a meritocracy-based system, a system that could bring hope and optimism for a better future. Democracies/Democratic Republics never last.
You're quite welcome, R, it's my pleasure to spread this essential information. I don't see it as "running away" as much as creating distance between myself and an oppressive tyrant. And some things are better left behind than addressed ... like ex-wives for example 😜
I would much rather deal with "smaller fiefdoms" than a global monster devouring everything in its path. We can probably agree that all government is the problem and the smaller the unit the more likely the accountability. It's literally the size of the gargantuan leviathan that has provided cover for the absence of accountability. A clear case of smaller is better. ;-).
And regarding it being "torn down," I want no part of such bloody mayhem. Besides, the whole thing is going to collapse on its own anyway and I would much rather be a spectator than a participant in such a conflagration.
Regarding the complications, of course you're right. Nobody is suggesting it will be simple, but if you have the time, much of it has been worked out, see website www.tnm.me And in that same vein, some of the good things in life are often very difficult. 🤪
I still submit that the cost of staying is much higher than the cost of leaving (especially for my grandkids, probably not so much for my wrinkled old arse.) So far nobody has effectively challenged that assertion.
Regarding a meritocracy, I admire your optimistic perspective but have to put you with Rockwell and Paul in the camp of impossible idealism. I'm okay with that, as I know it was only a minority of the colonists who wanted to secede from not so Great Britain. But once they did, they wisely included secession and nullification as the last line of defense against an intractable despotism, which describes our current predicament pretty well .
Voting and violence are the insidious traps set for us. Extreme vigilance is required.
While most of our freedoms are gone, at least we can still agree to disagree. Thanks for the comment, engaging as always 🤙🏻😎
